Sales Process · Call First
Call first. Text second.
This is the new motion, built for our best leads: businesses that already have a weak website. They are proven spenders, so they are worth a real call, not just a text. Call them, name what you saw (“I noticed you’re on Wix”), and text the link right after. Work the list top down, most reviews first.
The motion
DAY 0The touch
- Call the lead (start at the top of the list, the most reviews first).
- If they answer → use the call script on page 2. If they’re interested, text them the link while you’re on the phone.
- If no answer → leave the voicemail, then text the link right away so the preview thumbnail lands under your voicemail.
- Tap 📞 Log call in the playbook so nobody double-calls.
DAY 3Follow up once
No reply yet? One friendly nudge, either a quick text or a second call: “Did you get a chance to look?” That is it, no pestering.
DAY 5–7Last note
Still nothing? A final friendly note, then the preview comes down. Marc takes the site offline.
ANYTIMEThey say YES
Tap ✅ They said YES, send them the live link, and close (see the YES steps in the playbook). Then ask for one referral.
What changed from before
| The old way (no-website leads) | The new way (weak-website leads) |
| Text first, then wait 3 days to call. | Call first, then text the link right after. The call is the opener. |
| Cold text with a link, easy to ignore. | A real voicemail that names their builder (“I saw you’re on Wix”), backed by the text. |
| Wait for them to open the site, then decide. | Don’t wait. You reached out personally, the open tracker is just a bonus signal. |
| “I built you a website” (they had none). | “Your site could work a lot harder” (they already have one). |
| Lead with a free site / a one-time build. | Lead with the result: more calls, managed for $35 a month, cancel anytime. |
Three things to remember
- Warm and local. You’re a neighbor who noticed their site.
- Sell more calls, not a website. That’s what they buy.
- Never say their site is bad. Say yours works harder.

Sales Process · the scripts
Word for word.
Fill in the [Name], [Business], and [Builder] (Wix, GoDaddy, Squarespace). Make them sound like you. Warm and kind always wins.
1. The call (Day 0)
“Hi [Name], this is Olya with FiveStar Sites, I’m local here in your area. I came across [Business] and your reviews are fantastic. I build websites for local businesses, and I noticed yours is on [Builder] and could be working a lot harder to turn those reviews into calls. So I actually built you a fresh one, free, to show what’s possible. Can I text you the link right now so you can see it?”
✓ If interested: “Here’s the idea: we build it, get you on Google, keep your reviews fresh, and run the whole thing for $35 a month. You see it first, free, and cancel anytime. What do you think?”
2. Voicemail (Day 0, no answer)
“Hi [Name], this is Olya with FiveStar Sites, I’m local. I saw [Business]’s reviews and they’re wonderful. I noticed your website is on [Builder] and could bring you a lot more calls, so I built you a fresh one, free, to show you. I’m going to text you the link right now so you can take a peek. No pressure at all, call or text me back with any questions. Thanks [Name]!”
3. The text (right after the voicemail)
“Hi [Name], it’s Olya with FiveStar Sites, just left you a quick voicemail. I built [Business] a fresh website to show what’s possible, since I noticed you’re on [Builder]. Free to look, no pressure.
Here it is: [link]”
4. Follow-up text (Day 3, if no reply)
“Hi [Name], it’s Olya, just following up on that website I built for [Business]. Did you get a chance to look? Happy to answer any questions.
[link]”
5. The few questions you’ll get
“I already have a website.” “You do, and that’s exactly why I called. Yours looks fine, but it’s built to just sit there instead of bringing you calls. Mine gets you found on Google and turns your reviews into customers, and I run it all for you. Take ten seconds and compare them side by side.”
“How much is it?” “Just $35 a month, and you see it first for free. No big setup fee, month to month, cancel anytime.”
“I’m already paying for my site.” “Then let’s compare. Most builder sites just sit there, and you’re paying either way. For $35 a month I build it, get you on Google, keep your reviews fresh, and run the whole thing, so it actually earns its keep.”
“Is this a scam?” “Totally fair to ask. I’m local, right here in your area. I already built the site, it’s free to look at, and you only pay if you want to keep it. No catch.”
“Let me think about it.” “Of course. It stays free to look at, so I’ll leave it up for you. Mind if I check back in a few days?”
6. Ask a happy customer for a referral
“I’m so glad you love it, [Name]! Quick favor, do you know one other local business owner who could use the same thing? A quick introduction would mean a lot, and I’ll take great care of them.”
